Software and Technology Recruitment for Houston, Texas
Houston technology and software sales recruiters working with companies seeking CXO’s, sales, and marketing executives.
Houston has long been known as an innovator and leader in the aerospace, energy, and healthcare industries. In recent years, however, the city has taken a well-pointed approach to develop as a technology center incorporating a wider breadth of applications and offerings that has paid off quite nicely. Indeed, the area ecosystem has consistently been in the top 3 with regard to growth from 2020 to 2022.
Houston still maintains a relatively low cost of living compared to other cities vying for technology companies to set up shop in the region, and the start-up environment in the related ecosystem has been rapidly growing to accommodate the increased venture funding garnered by firms and also to support the organizations that are taking full advantage of it.
Areas of focus that are garnering venture capital
Biotech, Energy, Logistics, IoT, Utilities, SaaS, AI, Martech, IT consulting, Telecommunications, Healthtech, and other fields are receiving strong sums of support. $2+ billion was raised by over 200 companies in 2021 – a record amount that was significantly more than the previous year and well above the figure of $285 million garnered just 5 years prior.
Quarter one of 2022 showed that about 40 deals were completed and a sum of about $350 million was taken in by area companies – a figure that is still substantially higher than typical historical numbers and one that bodes well for the region. Indeed, Q3 for the year came in at almost $300 million which, although down from the same quarter of the previous year, was a number that tracked very well from a historical perspective in the Houston region. The cap figure for the final quarter of the year totaled about $455 million which was down about 25% from 2021 but certainly a figure that tracked well given the parallel declines seen across the sector. The total amount raised during the 2022 annum ended up just shy of $2 billion.
A move symbolic of the shifts happening in Houston and the country as a whole
HPE made a recent decision to relocate its headquarters from San Jose to a new, large building located in Springwoods Village. If there is a stamp that signifies what is occurring in the current technology environment surrounding the greater Houston metro area it certainly would be hard to find a more appropriate one. A number of additional well-known and very large corporations have also made a move here or opened additional primary satellite offices.
Educational institutions and startup development organizations provide sound support and talent
Rice University, The University of Houston, and nearby Texas A&M all have a Tier-1 designation, and the quality of research and skilled tech workers that come out of these campuses is a superb component in continuing the growth in the sector. All of these organizations offer various forms of resources for startups, and Rice’s Jones School of Business graduate entrepreneurship program consistently claims top tier positions when ranked against other similar programs on a national basis.
SDO’s in the region have grown extensively over the past few years and now number over 80. These include accelerators, incubators, coworking organizations, and a host of additional resources for those seeking to start and grow a new venture.
Extensive experience with local companies
