During quarter one of 2022 $1.5 billion was raised and dispersed to 80 companies which surpassed expectations – particularly given the relative slowdown in other regions. Equally important are the investment return numbers which place Philadelphia in the top 5 locations in the country. The total amount of cash accumulated by area companies in 2022 reached the $5.2 billion mark which left the region sitting at the #5 spot in the country trailing only the Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, and Boston.
